Bipolar Express
CONTENT WARNING
This game draws inspiration from real life events from someone diagnosed with bipolar disorder in their mid 30's.
The scenarios depicted are prior to diagnosis and treatment. The drive behind them are often typical presentations of mania and depression.
The game deals with issues of mental health including drug and alcohol abuse, compulsive and dangerous behaviours and suicide.
Though made to entertain and educate some people may find the situations triggering.
Bipolar Express is an autobiographical story of a person suffering from from bipolar disorder prior to seeking treatment. While the game seeks to entertain, it's primary purpose is to teach and demystify the mental illness that affects 1 in 50 Australians.
Bipolar is explored through 3 distinct minigames that are linked to common symptoms suffered by those with bipolar disorder.
- Drug and Alcohol Abuse
- Excessive Spending
- Reckless Behaviour
Each one offers a unique gameplay style, all tied together by the Match 3 minigame and Biorhythm interface. Experience a life at extremes and the space that lies in between.
We hope you enjoy and learn something from Bipolar Express.
